When someone is ill, they go to the doctor and leave with a prescription that promises to make everything better (more or less). The patient does what their doctor tells them, and they start to experience some relief from their symptoms …great news, right?

 

The only problem is that prescription medications will never repair or resolve the root cause of the illness. They only cloak the symptoms with some form of relief and the patient thinks they’re getting better. However, what happens when they stop taking the medication?

 

You guessed it – symptoms return, the problem persists, and the patient continues to suffer.

 

So, they keep taking the medications, never addressing the root of the stress that causes the issues, and they continue to put up with things like constipation, heartburn, acid reflux, diarrhea, and so on. Stress is the ONLY reason anyone gets sick. Despite what you may have been told by the pharmaceutical industry, medications will never heal you.

 

The best doctor of all resides within. If you want to return your body to homeostasis, you need to understand why the medical model is broken, where health really comes from, and take the necessary steps to bring yourself back to good health.

Three categories of stress

 

There are three categories of stress:

 

1. Physical

2. Chemical

3. Emotional

 

The medical model never tackles the source of the problem, which is always linked back to stress. Whether it’s physical stress, emotional, or chemical – every illness is caused by some form of stress. But, for whatever reason, the medical industry never addresses the source of the problem. Instead, they have tunnel vision and only ever focus on treating symptoms.

 

Solely focusing on symptoms is a BIG problem because you can’t fix physical, chemical, or emotional stress with a pharmaceutical drug. As I point out in my book, Gut Check, we live in a country of symptom-chasing gluttony. Sure, you can dampen the symptoms with prescription medications, but you’ll never address the root cause and you’ll never fully heal.

 

The power of nutrition

 

Only nutrition normalizes function. In other words, food is the real medicine and I’m not talking about junk food and greasy takeaways!

 

Real food is in the form of fats, carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins, minerals, and enzymes. Each of these foods plays a significant role in providing the body with the nutrition it needs to heal and function.

 

We need food to live, this is common knowledge (I hope). But, are you eating the right foods?

 

The most powerful nutrient of all is enzymes. However, here’s the kicker – you’ll rarely find enzymes in today’s food sources. It’s almost extinct in society’s supermarkets and is incredibly difficult to find because enzymes are destroyed when we heat and cook our food.

 

But we need enzymes to properly digest the food we eat. We get energy from food by digesting the food we eat and mixing it with acids and enzymes in the stomach. The carbohydrates in the food are then broken down to form glucose, which is where a lot of our energy comes from.

 

If your body is not digesting food properly, you will be negligent in how well your body turns food into energy. Fats, carbs, and proteins all provide the body with energy. However, only proteins can supply energy, help with growth and repair, and return your body to homeostasis (balance).

 

The importance of the hypothalamus gland

 

The hypothalamus gland is located in the brain and is responsible for maintaining internal balance in your body. It contains small nuclei and links the nervous system to the endocrine system via the pituitary gland.

 

To achieve homeostasis, the hypothalamus gland needs food and nutrition. The hypothalamus is responsible for stimulating or inhibiting many key processes in the body such as your blood pressure, respiration rate, and heart rate.

 

The hypothalamus is the master gland of the body. It is key to homeostasis and body balance. However, it needs food to do its job properly. The hypothalamus maintains homeostasis better when you are not stressed and when you’re digesting food properly.

 

The unfortunate truth about the medical model

 

When you’re stressed, your body burns through its fuel (food) and lowers energy as a result. Prescription medication will never give you energy. In fact, when you consume prescription meds, your body uses up even more energy.

 

Here’s the truth…the American government feed into the different lobbies. They are all working together. The big pharmaceuticals, the insurance industry, congresspeople, and the American government are more concerned with themselves and their own bank accounts than the health of the American people.

 

Americans spend billions of dollars on prescription medications each year with no sign of slowing down. Why would the medical industry tell people to take prescription meds constantly without even trying to tackle the root cause of the illness?

 

I’ll tell you why – because if you found a way to heal yourself, you wouldn’t need prescription meds anymore and they would lose customers. Let’s face it, the American government and all of these pharmaceutical companies see you as a customer, not a patient.

 

I’m not telling you to stop taking prescription medication, that’s not what I’m trying to do here. But I want you to be fully aware that if you are taking prescription medication, it’s not nourishing you, it will not normalize function, because it’s not food.
